We went for a little drive...

a couple weeks ago. We stopped by the river to let Willie & Holden do some fishing.

Holden is helping Willie reel in the fish. It's kind of hard to reel them because the water is moving so fast that when the fish gets in that part of the water it pulls the fish down stream.

First day of Kindergarten

Holden started school on Monday. I was nervous but his teacher seems really nice. I think she is going to do a great job teaching my son.

I was a bit surprised when he found his name on the table & sat down. He looks a little crazy in this picture.

the other day. We had a nice day just the 2 of us. I'm hoping we will have another nice day tomorrow.

Just a quick update

We are all really good. We have been doing some hiking & exploring. We have decided we love hiking. Holden loves it too but he freaks me out. He is so fearless that he does not think he will get hurt. It is kind of a chore to take him because he scares me but he will never learn if we don't teach him. He has the best time picking up sticks & rocks on our hikes. He really likes climbing on all the rocks (he has always been a climber).

We try to go to a new place every weekend (but sometimes it's more fun to have a lazy day). There are so many places that we want to visit. We found a short walk around that has some ice caves. I'm hoping we will make there this weekend. We are also planing a hike up to Hanging Lake & Hays Creek Falls. We have been to Hays Creek Falls but we didn't hike up the trail.

We are also trying to find a new place to rent. This tiny apartment is not fun. I hate living so close to so many other people. I come home from work & I can smell what people are cooking (which is not always good). It is so noisy here.

I am also working hard trying to get mt photography business going. I have put cards up all over town. I plan on doing pictures for family & a few friends when we come to visit. I'm also trying to build a website (which I have no Idea what I'm doing).

Well that is all I have time to tell you right now. Sorry if I rambled a bit (I do it all the time). I hope to have more pictures soon.

Holdens Graduation

My boy graduated from Pre-k on Wednesday May 27th. I can't believe how fast he is growing. It really is bitter-sweet.

This picture cracks me up. It looks like he is crossing his fingers that his name will get called.

He decided to keep them crossed hoping he won't trip.

It started out as a nice day but it was getting ready to storm so it got cold really fast. He was coming to tell me he was cold. I love the look on his teachers face.

I'm really mad at myself because I missed the teacher giving him his "diploma". Something distracted me at that very moment.

Mothers Day

So I know this is late but you know I have had problems with my internet. Anyway. Holden & I were all alone for mothers day this year. We had a really nice day. Holden kept telling me we were on a date. We went out for breakfast then spent some time walking in downtown Basalt. I really had a good day hanging out with my little man. He even let me take a ton of pictures of him (which never happens).

This is my crazy son taking everything out of his wallet just so he can put it all back in. Oh FYI the little white & blue card is for a child psychologist. If you really know Holden you know why that is funny. Just Holden giving me a silly face. We really had a good time that day.

Too Funny!!!

I have to tell the funniest story. Unfortunately Willie does not think it's that funny. We went to the river the other day so Willie could fish & I could take pictures. Willie was fishing & having a good time until his lure got tangled up with a log in the water & the top part of his fishing pole came off. He couldn't break the line because he would loose the top of his pole. So he decided to go in to get it. The water is about 30 degrees. This first picture is him cleaning out his pockets & getting ready to get in.

In the next picture you can see the water just getting up past his waders. That is the first of the cold water he felt.

This is Willie coming out of the water & you can see it on his face he is not happy. I felt bad but all I could was snap pictures & laugh. It was so funny only because I did not have to go in the water. We went home right after that & I can tell you that was one of the longest rides home for Willie, but he saved his fishing pole. I still laugh when I think of it.

Saturday

Saturday was a great day. We took Holden to see Monsters vs Aliens. He has been begging me to take him to the movies before we left Florida. I was not able to take him then when I could there was nothing playing. The movie was really good. Even Willie liked it. The person behinde us was snoring for most of the movie. After the movie we all went home & took a nap. We woke up about 7:30 & started getting ready to go to work with Willie. Willie has the coolest job ever! Ok there may be better jobs but I had so much fun. Holden had his DVD player & a few movies so he was all set. Holden drove the cat with Willie for a little while & he loved it. Poor Holdy asked me a few times if we were going home but we were there for the night. Holden asked me "do I have to go to sleep now or what?". I told him he could if he wanted but he didn't have to & he was asleep within 10mins. He fell asleep about 3:20 & woke up around 7:30. I loved it & would like to go again before his last night. We had a great time hanging out together. When we got home Sunday morning I was so tired. I could not do this everynight but it is fun every so often. I'll try to post a picture of Holden driving when I get home.

Stupid Internet

My internet connection is really really slow right now. I have so many pictures to show you all but I can not get them to upload. We are trying to figure something out right now so hopefully soon I can put up some new pictures. I'm sending this from work right now. Have a great day & hopefully I can update soon.
